The Continuation of the Infantization of America

Democratic Candidate/Senator Joseph Lieberman (D-CT) has proposed that the Federal Government put warnings on advertisements much like movie ads are accompanied by parental warnings. What a *great* idea! Cause I was going to eat that box of ho-hos and drink that 2 liter of soda in one sitting but now that I just found out its bad for me *gasp* I won't. Sheesh. I can see it now "Chips Ahoy Cookies rated PG", "Funions rated PG-13" and coming this summer "Pork Rinds rated R." In his statement he says that Dubya "has done little to provide consumers with better information or stop corporations from preying on children." Um, exactly *when* was the 10th amendment repealed? The Federal Government is not supposed to protect us from ourselves. If we want to get fat that's our prerogative. Besides it's not the junk food company's fault that kids are getting fat. It's the parents who let their kids eat this junk!
