More from the world tour

Jason and I are continuing our Putt-Putt World Tour(tm). Thursday we went to Rolandia and the Magic Castle. This is an evil, EVIL, mini golf course where we believe par was just arbitrarily decided. Instead of bricks, or boards they just put in multi-faceted rocks so good luck trying to play the angels to shoot under par, much less get a hole in one. Needless to say, if we return there this year (more than likely), we'll "fix" the par so our scores don't look nearly so bad. Anyway Jason beat me 48 (10 over par) to 53 (15 over par). As I said, we'll have to fix those. Indian Trails mini golf course, which has its own woods around the holes, and surprisingly enough weren't inundated with cicadas. I think I'm getting better as the season progresses. On both courses (Braves and Squaws & Chiefs and Princesses, I was beating Jason after 9 holes but then proceeded to melt down and lose by 2 (Chiefs) and 3 (Braves) strokes.

Saturday, was a different story, armed with only a "buy one get one" coupon, Jason and I trekked out to find "Smiley's" on Linden Avenue. After finding it, we discovered that it's only one step below Rolandia in EVIL. It is a classic miniature golf course, with windmills, clown mouths, and various other things to make you shake your fist. What made this course truly evil though is the fact that they had 3 different kinds of Astroturf. Usually you'd tee off from the slow so you'd have to hit it decently hard and then your ball would hit the fast stuff and take off. Oh, and I almost forgot this part, there were two PAR ONES! How in the world you could possibly have two par ones is beyond me, but there were. At least until I said all in favor of changing the par ones? "Aye." So we changed them two par twos. Still, it wasn't a good round for either of us. Jason once again beat me by one stroke 53(16 over par) to 54 (17 over par).

We then went to Beavercreek to Cap'n Bogey's where, sadly, they are permanently closed as of the end of February. So we had to cross that off our list. I think just on a curiosity level, I'm going to check out how much it would cost to buy it. Not a serious look, mind you, but just a curious one. Anyway, on we went to Springfield, Ohio (sadly not the hometown of the Simpson's, no nuclear power plant). Where we played some good ol' fashioned Putt-Putt. That's right, orange metal rails, deceptively hard holes, deceptively easy ones, etc. Unlike, most Putt-Putts, this one only had two courses instead of three. Jason and I both got holes-in-ones on the first course while our ball color was lit. (If you get a hole in one while the light is on, you when a scratch of card good for a free game or some tokens or something). Jason beat me 44 (8 over par) to 49 (13 over par). The second game was much more exciting, I had surmised my previous meltdowns had been to hubris, where after seeing how well I was doing after nine holes I proceed to make dumb mistakes. So I refused to look. One the third hole Jason got another ace, but his color wasn't lit until after we started the fourth hole. Making him make a comment about the other players being slow. Fast forward to 17. I sink a beautiful Ace and i didn't even have my ball out of the hole when I hear "blue and green are now the new colors," great that's just fat-f---in great. Anyway we both hole out on 18 and apparently, I beat him by 6 strokes! Forty (4 over par) to Forty-six (10 over par). So thus ends this week's stops, here are the updated scores:
