Dreaming Dangerously

This is a new experience for me

I have never been part of the minority party before in my voting career. I've always been a registered Republican and I wasn't eligible to vote until 1995, after the Republican Revolution of 1994. Clinton was more a moderate than a liberal, and even Ohio was GOP controlled. So I have a couple questions

1)Am I allowed to blame Diebold for the Republican loss? Because that's what the Democrats would have done.

2)How long should I wait before complaining that the Democrats are leading the country down the path of total destruction? January 3rd? 100 Days after January 3rd?

3)If the Democrats begin hearings on the Iraq war (like I believe they will), can I complain that the Democrats are just distracting the country from more important issues?

4)What will Keith Olberman rant, erm give a "special comment" about now that Democrats are in power, or can he still save the Republic from W?

I need answers people! I feel so lost! Ooh.. it's almost on.

Addison here.

As someone that is optimistic about the prospect of a government that isn't unilaterally controlled by one party, I feel obligated to respond to your questions.

Q1)Am I allowed to blame Diebold for the Republican loss?

A1) No, for two reasons: Diebold is a Republican-friendy company, and the Dem turnover is a reflection of an undeniable zeitgeist (ooh, German words make me sound smart) present in both the public and the media.

Q2)How long should I wait before complaining that the Democrats are leading the country down the path of total destruction?

A2) You may complain when any of the following occurs: the Dems lead us into a pointless war with no exit plan, the Dems pass taxcuts that make the rich richer and the poor poorer, the Dems turn a dwindling national debt into a growing national debt, the Dems take away civil liberties to make us "more safe"...need I go on?

Q3)If the Democrats begin hearings on the Iraq war, can I complain that the Democrats are just distracting the country from more important issues?

A3) Yes. Energy wasted on placing blame instead of developing a resolution to the Iraq situation is justification for complaint.

Q4)What will Keith Olberman rant, erm give a "special comment" about now that Democrats are in power, or can he still save the Republic from W?

A4) Yes.

From the minute Fraulein Pelosi places our tax burden in the 50 percentile to pay for handing out free puppies to the under-privileged, or to give free everything to anyone who didn't vote Republican, you are allowed to gripe.

So, around January 5.

A state held in captivity by an idiot donkey governor. You should put a countdown clock on your blog, or a "Days In Captivity" marker.

Frankly, we should blame Rummy and those around our not-so-independent Prez for taking the party too far to the right for the mainstream to tolerate. But look on the bright side:

the lefties are going to put up Hilary (or, Lady Beelzebub) in '08. Heck, I may have to register Donkey just so I can vote in the primary and make sure she gets the nod.

Them's good eatin'... :D
