News, Notes, and Billy Goats

I haven't posted in a while, so I'll write ala Larry King for some things, go into greater detail for others.

Well, the world survived the Apocolpyse with the Cubs' Curse of the Billy Goat (ha! didn't think I could squeeze a billy goat into this did you?) and the Red Sox's Curse of the Bambino preventing them from going to the World Series and bringing the 7 plagues upon the Earth. However, if you like alternate realities (and I know I do), then visit Espn.com's Page 2's Alternate World Series. Click here for games 1 and 2, here for 3, 4, and 5 and here for games 6 and 7.

According to The Germatriculator, this site has been rated (before this current post) as 40% evil! (or 60% good). I'll even post the handy little picture patch thingy here:
This site is certified 40% EVIL by the Gematriculator

Saw the Movies Kill Bill and The Rundown. Both good flicks, I'm not gushing over it like some websites but both fine fine movies in their own right. First Kill Bill, it's a real shame New Line had to chop this into two parts. It works, but because of some film named Return of the Jedi-King (oor something like that) we have to wait until February to catch Part Two (yeah they say they wanted to wait until next year so it could keep for the 2005 Oscars but let's face it, if any film goes up against Lord of the Rings, it's probably going to lose. So we have to wait 5 months between films. Will it lessen the experience of part 2? We'll see. I should say that if you haven't seen this film, you probably should, knowing that there is a lot of anime style blood flow. (i.e. There's no way in hell the body reacts like that when someone loses a head).

His father is the District Attorney! Unintentional Comedy Gold right there folks.

Went to Trader's World, Saturday (this now being Monday, October 27th) picked up a game from my childhood, Star Wars: Escape from the Death Star Game. Its got everything except the little standy pieces and I'm working on procuring those. Its a neat little board game where you play our heroes as they escape from the Death Star and pick up the Death Star Plans (presumably that means R2 and 3PO) and shut off the tractor beam. Speaking of unintentional comedy gold, the best card reads "Win Light Saber Duel with Darth Vader Move Ahead 3." Excuse me? If I beat Vader with a lightsaber I'm takin over the bloomin thing and blowing up some stuff. Anyway for $8 it was a steal. Now maybe I should find the follow up, "Destroy the Death Star."

Daylight Savings Time ended yesterday. Days are getting shorter, as I write this its now 6:05 pm and the sun is almost totally set. *Sigh* I miss Summer already.

I admit I'm not a huge college football fan, I follow it on the net and root for my Alma Mater but I have to admit it's nice when someone like Espn.com writes an article singing the praises of BGSU's quarterback.

Ok, this time I'm serious. I'll try to update this thing more often. Later!
